The YouTuber toys are shown starting around the 2:30 mark

Minecraft toys are nothing new, they have been around for years. LEGO sets, creeper plushies, Steve figurines and more have been in one store or another almost as long as Minecraft has been popular. Now, it seems one particular toy maker wants to tap into YouTubers that got big from producing Minecraft-related content, with their own toy line. As the video shows, there are already figurines for SkyDoesMinecraft, Antvenom, JeromeASF, and quite a few others.

Waht do you think about YouTuber toys? Good idea, bad idea? Would you buy one, or no? Alternately, what else do you think would make an interesting toy line?

The guys over at AccidentalGames have come up with a pretty clever system! Have you ever wanted to have some clever mods in your game, but couldn't figure out how to work them? Maybe you want to keep Minecraft "vanilla", but still want to try out some neat new things? Gamemode 4 might be exactly what you're looking for!

Gamemode 4 is a collection of carefully constructed redstone modules, they can be easily added to your Minecraft world to add to your game-play experience without the need for mods! While they aren't technically capable of the same level of sheer game-editing audacity as some mods do, Gamemode 4 is still a pretty impressive setup: Bat grenades, potion swords, social creepers, deepening snow, Ender shields, dragon hatchlings, buried treasure, and a whole mess of others are all possible, using only redstone and command blocks!

Aside from downloading a world or schematic, it's also possible to integrate any of these into existing games with a command block: each module on the Gamemode 4 site has a 1-click option, that will give you a line of text to copy-paste into a command block. Just paste it into a command block in your world, give it redstone power, and off you go! Amazingly simple to use for such a diverse set of neat modules.

Ready to check it out for yourself? Hit up the Gamemode 4 site!

Want to see some of these modules in action before trying them out? Each one of them has a video showcasing what they can do!

1.8.5 is live! (That just rolls right off the tongue, doesn't it?) This update was primarily to address a few security issues, as well as a small handful of bugs. No features yet, sorry! Per usual, you can get the update right in your launcher, and 1.8.5 should remain compatible with 1.8 servers.

So, what exactly did this patch fix?

NOTABLE FIXES:

  • [Bug MC-79632] – Phantom Custom Player in Scoreboard / UUIDs of non-player entities on scoreboards truncated after relog

  • [Bug MC-75630] – Exploit with signs and command blocks

  • [Bug MC-80478] – Better server validation for movement packets

  • [Bug MC-80479] – Invalid beacon effects are not validated

  • [Bug MC-80480] – Certain attribute values are not bound

Looking to go to a Minecraft convention, but want to travel inside the US (or alternately, visit the "exotic" US)? Consider giving ArcadiaCon a go!

After a successful first year in 2014 with over 2,000 attendees in Texas, ArcadiaCon is doing it again! Located in the beautiful Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center, this year’s event will be held on June 27th & 28th. Filled with live performances, a gaming arcade, Minecraft contests and more into a two day action-packed event! Then, join your favorite YouTube celebrities for some family fun in the sun on gorgeous Fort Lauderdale beaches.

Last year's ArcadiaCon was an incredible success, especially in the face of many similar, yet failed attempts at privately-run Minecraft-themed conventions. This year's con promises Meet & Greets, autograph signings, free-play arcade area, the Nexus Minecraft PvP competitions, educational and informative panel sessions, laser light shows, and even an Approaching Nirvana concert to round it off, just to name a few!

If you're interested in participating - whether as a content creator, attendee, or anything else - check out ArcadiaCon's site, and get started!
